Meet The Team
Steven H. Shapiro is the leader of the Corporate Group at DUGGAN BERTSCH. He is an award-winning former public company General Counsel, a nationally recognized speaker on corporate and technology topics, and a highly accomplished transactional lawyer. Steve has completed numerous M&A transactions in a variety of industries, from smaller deals to multi-party billion dollar international purchases and dispositions. He also has successfully completed dozens of complex securities offerings, in which he represented both underwriters and issuers, bank financings, representing lenders and borrowers, and venture capital financings.
Steve also has extensive experience in technology contracting and related transactions, such as software licenses, SaaS agreements, cloud services agreements, technology equipment sales and purchaser, terms of services, and technology consulting agreements. In performing this work, Steve counsels technology vendors as well as to purchasers and licensors of technology and technology consulting.
Steve graduated the University of Chicago Law School and cum laude from Columbia University, where he received awards for service to the academic community. A native New Yorker, Steve has lived in the Chicago area since attending law school.
