Meet The Team
Maureen E. Loughran, jd
Maureen E. Loughran is an Associate in the Estate & Wealth Planning, and Corporate Law groups. She focuses her practice in all aspects of comprehensive planning, including wealth transfer planning, asset protection and estate administration, as well as the creation and implementation of family office structures, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Maureen also has an extensive background in contested estate and fiduciary litigation, special needs planning, and asset preservation.
Maureen is active in the Chicago legal community and co-chairs several committees in the Chicago Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, as well as serving as the President of the Center for Disability and Elder Law’s Young Professionals Board. Maureen is routinely appointed as Guardian ad Litem and as Counsel for Respondents by judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County in adult guardianship cases and presents continuing legal education programs in Guardianship and Estate Planning. Maureen serves on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission for Access to Justice Guardianship Committee and the Chicago Bar Association’s Probate Rules and Forms Committee, in each case working to help design and improve probate forms used in Cook County and throughout the State of Illinois. Maureen also volunteers with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
Maureen earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from DePaul University College of Law with a Certificate in Family Law and earned a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree with distinction in Political Science and Spanish (Hispanic Linguistics) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Maureen has been recognized by the Chicago Bar Association with the David C. Hilliard Award for outstanding committee service, as well as by her peers as a Rising Star in Estate Planning and Probate, and an Emerging Lawyer in the areas of Trust, Will and Estate Planning as well as Elder Law.
